What is a Craft Supply Swap?

Donations of your new and gently used craft supplies are brought to the Armory on the take-in days. (Unfinished projects, too.)

On the “shopping” day, you arrive and find things that you can use. There is no money exchanged, just the supplies and lots of smiles.

What can I donate?

Here are some ideas: quilting supplies, yarn, string, paints, brushes, canvases, craft papers, calligraphy pens, stickers, buttons, fabrics, knitting and crocheting supplies, markers, beads, pipe cleaners, holiday craft supplies, wrapping paper, tissue paper, woodworking tools, soap making, candle making, weaving, scissors, crayons, pens, clay, ink, stamps, stencils, scrapbooking supplies, drawing pads, sewing supplies, glue guns and glue, mosaics, etc.

Can I “shop” if I don’t donate?

Yes, take whatever you need. Remaining items will be donated to local charities. There will be a time in your life when you DO have something to donate, so no worries.

Any questions?

Please contact Ellie at EllieBCoffey@gmail.com.

Enjoy a day with old friends and new and sew or craft to your heart’s content.

A Roomy Place to Create

Because there is a limit of outlets in an historical building like the Armory, we have to be judicious about the power.

A. Forty people will be allowed to have a socket for the day. You will also be entitled to half of a table that is 8 feet by 30 inches. (Nice and roomy so you can layout a project very well.) The cost will be $30 for a day of uninterrupted sewing and chatting.

The “electric” tables will be around the perimeter of the room.

There will be four ironing stations as well.

B. In the center of the room will be round tables that seat up to six people. These are for people who are working on handwork or any craft that does not require electricity. Because crafts take space, there will be two or three people to a round table (you choose). The fee for one of these stations is $20. There is a limit of 40 for the non-electric tickets.

Snacks and Meals

there will be a table for snacks that people have brought to share. (Completely optional.)

Catered boxed lunches from Wild Side Market of Pawcatuck. Choice of a salad AND a sandwich for $9. Options for sandwiches are: roast beef, vegetarian, turkey, chicken salad, grilled chicken. Salads will be either grain, veggie, pasta or rice.  There will also be a choice of chips or fruit. Ginger Acosta is the chef/owner and her food is super fresh and the flavor combinations are always delicious.  (Ellie will ask for specific choices closer to the event.)  Slices of Vesta cake will be available for dessert. ($3 each). Dinner will be a Vetrano’s pizza party and salad bar. ($8)

Please note: You can bring your own lunch and dinner; a refrigerator and a microwave are available.

Education

At 11am, Ellie Coffey will demonstrate how to take a boring (or damaged)  piece of clothing and turn it into something special. Supply kits will be available for a nominal fee.

Entertainment

While we’ll be entertaining ourselves all day, if people want to, we can hold a show-and-tell after dinner.
